Online safety, reporting and complaints

1. Scope and safety principles

UniBao lets users publish marketplace, housing, service and community content and, where appropriate, message one another. We have zero tolerance for illegal content, fraud, harassment, hate, pornography, child sexual exploitation and abuse content, or content encouraging suicide or self-harm. We use pre-publication moderation, user reports, blocking, human review and account enforcement to reduce these risks.

2. How to report or block

• Use Report on a listing, post, comment, profile or conversation, choose a reason and add relevant details.
• Use Block to stop seeing or interacting with the user; blocked users can be managed in Settings.
• If in-app reporting is unavailable, use the public contact page with the content link, account, time and explanation. The support email is visible without signing in.

We aim to review safety reports within 24 hours. Contact safety support.

3. Complaints and appeals

If you believe a report was mishandled, content was restricted incorrectly, an account action was wrong, or our safety measures were not applied as published, submit a complaint through the contact page. Include the content or account, the original decision, your reasons and the outcome requested. An authorised person will conduct a human review and, where reasonably possible, the review will not be handled solely by the original decision-maker.

4. Children and young people

People under 16 must not register for or use UniBao. Users aged 16–17 are still children, so high-privacy defaults apply: diagnostics is off by default, location is requested only for a feature the user chooses, automatically generated public location text is limited to a city, area or neighbourhood, public coordinates are reduced in precision, and contact details are exchanged only after mutual agreement. No user may publish child sexual exploitation, grooming, harassment, encouragement of self-harm or other content harmful to children.

5. Automated and human moderation

Published content may undergo automated safety review. It is used to decide whether content can be shown publicly or needs human review, not to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. A publisher whose content is rejected or restricted can edit and resubmit it and use the appeal route when offered. If automated review is unavailable or uncertain, content enters a restricted human-review queue.

6. Emergencies and law-enforcement reporting

If someone is in immediate danger, contact UK emergency services on 999; non-emergency crime can be reported to police on 101. We preserve the minimum evidence needed to handle a safety incident and, where legally required, report detected and unreported child sexual exploitation and abuse content or other illegal content to the UK National Crime Agency (NCA) or another competent authority. Do not upload illegal images through ordinary feedback; identify where the content appears in UniBao.
